That's a Wrap

Next time you give someone a gift, try personalizing your wrapping. You might worry it'll turn out ugly, but that's what makes it special. Improvise with some newspaper, string (not ribbon), and some pens and markers and you might end up liking your wrap creation. Most of all, it'll surely be memorable for the giftee when they find out you wrapped it. I tried it and I think it's not too shabby.

Cover to Cover

I've been meaning to post this for a while now.. so finally here you have it. Project Thirty Three gathers vintage album covers and so generously posts them on their site for internet wanderers like me to come across. The collection is really impressive. The simplicity of retro design sparks a bit of envy in me. Circles, stripes, text, and a basic minimalist approach is a pattern throughout, but somehow is so different each time. If you're a designer and come to a designer's block, this is probably the place to resort. I'm not a designer, but these covers have got me inspired. I feel like making something with these clever color combinations. Here are some of my faves:

Joyful Joyful

This song makes me want to ride a bike to the park and enjoy a picnic under the sun all day. This song in general is just the right tone and melody for setting off a string of daydreams. If you check out the rest of Little Joy's stuff, you won't be surprised that they're a pretty solid group. And if you thought the sound was somewhat familiar, then you were probably a fan of The Strokes... and have a good sense of association.
